JFS is a social services and mental health agency that seeks to enhance the lives of individuals and families. We offer a comprehensive array of programs and services that address the community’s needs and challenges, including financial (assistance with applying for government benefits), vocational (career counseling and job placement), emotional (mental health evaluation, individual and family counseling, crisis intervention, sexual abuse and domestic violence services), social, educational (lectures, workshops), and practical (food pantry, advocacy). No one is turned away because of an inability to pay.

Our goal is to provide hope at every encounter with every person who comes through our door. Whether you reach out to us on the phone, send a donation, or volunteer, or let us know about a job opening in your company, that action helps to establish a meaningful connection.

Child abuse rates increase in times of crisis and instability such as we are experiencing now - and because of social distancing, the adults who most often see kids and recognize when something is wrong, are not having the kind of contact they normally do. Here are some of the New Jersey crisis hotlines that are available.
Visit the New Jersey Children’s Alliance website at njcainc.org for resources for adults who are currently communicating with children - teachers, therapists, family members, and friends. Recognizing signs of abuse is more difficult in this socially distanced environment, but being more aware can help connect families with resources and protect children who may be in an abusive home situation.
